Abraham Rivera is an experienced security practitioner with domain knowledge of information security management, investigations, training, digital forensics, ediscovery and incident response in the public and private sectors including academia. Spanning over 34 years, he has worked for six New York City agencies, three domestic and foreign financial institutions, one international biopharmaceutical company, four technical training schools, three colleges and consulted privately on a number of investigations.
Currently an Incident Commander for the NYC OTI Cyber Command with former roles in banking as Vice President of Global eDiscovery Operations and Cyber Forensics Investigations. The first and former Executive Director of IT and Investigative Operations and law enforcement officer for the New York City Department of Investigation, his managerial and technical expertise is extensive, hands-on, and encompasses over a dozen operating systems, networks and databases. He's performed undercover operations, conducted highly confidential internal and external investigations into corruption and other criminal activities and has assisted and participated in the execution of many search warrants.
He has over 40 certifications in digital forensics and other various cybersecurity disciplines. In addition, he has been teaching aggressive networking and security programs and has been performing speaking engagements at numerous institutions, organizations and conferences since 1998.
Abraham graduated Cum Laude from the City College of New York and from John Jay College with a Master's of Public Administration in Inspection and Oversight.
