Abraham Rivera is an accomplished security practitioner with domain knowledge of information security management, investigations, training, digital forensics, ediscovery and incident response in the public and private sectors including academia. Spanning over 34 years, he has served six New York City agencies, three domestic and foreign financial institutions, one international biopharmaceutical company, four technical training schools, three colleges and consulted privately on a number of investigations. He owns WatchDog Forensics LLC, offering cybersecurity training and consulting services tailored to clients' needs, focusing on practical foundational principles and a holistic approach to people, process, technology and governance.

Currently serving as the Incident Commander for the City of New York OTI Cyber Command since 2019, Abraham has held various consultancy and leadership positions in prominent organizations such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Investment Bank, and Morgan Stanley. The first and former Executive Director of IT and Investigative Operations and law enforcement officer for the New York City Department of Investigation, his managerial and technical expertise is extensive, hands-on,  and encompasses over a dozen operating systems, networks and databases. He's conducted numerous undercover operations and high-profile confidential internal and external investigations into corruption, cybercrime and other criminal activities and has assisted and participated in the execution of many search warrants.

He has over 40 certifications in digital forensics and other various cybersecurity disciplines including CISM, CISSP, CFE, GREM and CFCE. In addition, he has been teaching aggressive networking and security programs and has been performing speaking engagements at numerous institutions, organizations and conferences since 1998.

Abraham graduated Cum Laude from the City College of New York and from John Jay College with a Master's of Public Administration in Inspection and Oversight.
